YouTube video download online, right in your browser
No installer, no extension, no account: the whole thing runs on this page.
This YouTube video download tool lives in the browser you already have open. Paste a link into the box above, and it looks the video up live, then shows you the title, the length and every available quality. Normal watch links, short youtu.be links, Shorts, mobile links and YouTube Music links all work the same way.
Because there's nothing to install, it works on whatever you're holding: an Android phone, an iPhone or iPad, a Windows laptop, a Mac, a Linux machine or a Chromebook. Tap a quality and the file opens in a new tab straight from YouTube's video servers, ready to save to your device.
One small heads-up: if you opened this page from inside Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or another app, that app's built-in browser may block downloads. Open the page in Chrome or Safari instead and everything behaves normally.
Made for life offline and on the go
Grab your videos while you have Wi-Fi, then watch or listen wherever the signal gives up.
-
Flights and trips
Load up a few episodes, travel vlogs or cooking videos before boarding. Airplane mode stops being boring when your watchlist is already on your phone.
-
The daily commute
Subway tunnels and packed trains are where streaming stutters. Saved MP4s and MP3s play smoothly from the first stop to the last.
-
Weak signal zones
Cabins, campsites, rural roads and basement gyms rarely have great reception. A downloaded video doesn't care how many bars you have.
-
Saving mobile data
Download once on home Wi-Fi and replay as often as you like without touching your data plan. Handy when you're near the end of the month.
-
Kids on the go
Save a handful of cartoons or sing-alongs for the car or the waiting room. No buffering meltdowns, and no surprise autoplay into something else.
-
Study offline
Keep lectures, tutorials and language lessons on your laptop or tablet. Revise in the library, on the bus or anywhere without reliable internet.
Which MP4 quality fits your screen?
Every quality includes sound, and the box shows the exact file size before you tap.
| Quality | Looks good on | File size |
|---|---|---|
| 144p | Audio-first clips, tiny previews | Very small |
| 240p | Small phone screens, talk videos | Small |
| 360p | Phones in portrait, podcasts with video | Small |
| 480p | Phones and small tablets | Medium |
| 720p | Tablets, laptops, most phones in landscape | Medium to large |
| 1080p (Full HD) | Laptops, monitors and TVs | Large |
The highest quality offered is 1080p. Higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K aren't available.
Tip: go lower for long trips
Packing a whole season for a long-haul flight? On a phone screen, 480p or 360p usually looks perfectly fine and takes up far less space than 1080p, so you can fit many more videos on the same storage.
The same logic works for music and podcasts: a 128 kbps MP3 is plenty for earbuds on a noisy train and keeps files light. Save the higher settings for the videos and tracks you really want to enjoy on a big screen or good headphones.

YouTube video download FAQ
Is this YouTube video download tool really free?
Yes. Every quality and every MP3 option is free to use, and there's no account to create. The site uses Google Analytics and cookies for anonymous visit statistics, which helps keep it running.
How do I save videos on an Android phone?
Open this page in Chrome or another regular browser, paste the link and tap a quality. If the video starts playing in the new tab, tap the three-dot menu and choose Download. The file usually lands in your Downloads folder and shows up in your gallery or Files app.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
It does, in Safari or any other modern browser. When the video opens, tap the share or download option, or long-press and choose to download or save it. Safari keeps downloads in the Files app, under Downloads, by default.
Where do my downloaded files end up?
They go wherever your browser normally saves downloads. On most computers that's the Downloads folder, and on phones it's the Downloads area of your Files app. You can change this location in your browser settings.
Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?
320 or 256 kbps sounds richest and suits music on good headphones. 192 or 128 kbps is a sensible middle ground for everyday listening, while 64 kbps keeps spoken-word files like podcasts very small.
Can I save long videos like full lectures or movies?
Yes, there's no length or size limit. Longer videos simply mean bigger files, so check the size shown next to each quality and make sure your device has enough free space.
Why won't a particular video work?
Private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos may not be available. Live streams that are still running can't be saved either; try again once the stream has ended. If the download button does nothing, you may be in an in-app browser, so switch to Chrome or Safari.
What about Shorts and playlists?
Shorts links work just like regular videos. If you paste a link from a playlist, only the single video in that link is saved, not the whole list.
Is it legal to download YouTube videos?
It depends on the video. Only save videos you own, ones in the public domain or under a licence that allows it, or ones you have permission to download, and keep them for personal use. This site is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
